Geocache Description:

You are looking for a small aluminum capsule. It should be easily spotted once you are at the cache location. Please respect the area and treat it with the dignity it deserves.

When I am in Derby I like to come here to visit my Mom and Dad. The cache was originally placed to honor my father. He was certainly a hero to me as I suppose lots of fathers are to their children. He loved the outdoors, a good joke (or sometimes a not so good one), his family and most of all my mother. He had another love and that was what made him a true hero. He loved helping others by being a firefighter on the Derby Volunteer Fire Department. My father answered the call 24 hours a day for over 40 years. Long after he left the job of entering burning buildings to younger people he continued to respond. He maintained equipment and did whatever else his long experience had taught him would help his fellow firefighters. He would be embarrassed at being called a hero. To him and the others he served with it was simply that there were people who needed help and he was able to offer it. I have recently changed the name of this cache to “My Heroes” This is because on March 5, 2014 my mother left us to join my father forever. My Mother has always been a hero to me because of her intelligence, abilities and mostly her basic loving nature. Also for the way she bravely carried on when my father was gone. She gave me love, understanding and guidance that in large part formed the adult I am today. I have come to realize that I did not fully appreciate much of this until I was well beyond childhood. Cherish your parents while they are with you. You will miss them when they are gone. You are looking for a small aluminum capsule. It should be easily spotted once you are at the cache location.
