[EN]Balbieriškis escarpment is on the left slope of the valley of the Nemunas, near the road Alytus - Prienai. [LT]Balbieriškio atodanga yra Nemuno slėnio kairiajame šlaite, prie pat kelio Alytus - Prienai MAGNETIC NANO

The main outcrop is 1700 m long and 40 m in height. It uncovered glacial deposits column of 7-10 m thick striped clay lake deposits which have developed in a large proglacial Balbieriškis - Simnas lagoon bottom. The strips (also known as dripping) number can be set as the cold-water proglacial lagoon. Here they are overstayers about 200 years ago.

Pagrindinė atodangos dalis yra 1700 m ilgio ir 40 m aukščio. Joje atidengta ledynų suvilktų nuogulų storymė bei 7-10 m storio juostuotųjų ežerinių molių klodai, susiklostę dideliame prieledyninių Balbieriškio - Simno marių dugne. Iš juostelių (dar vadinamų varvomis) skaičiaus galima nustatyti, kiek metų tyvuliavo šaltavandenės prieledyninės marios. Čia jos užsibuvo apie 200 metų.
