Geocache Description:

This is a 2 stage multi celebrating the history of Downtown Lucedale's Scratching Post.

The coordinates will take you to a scratching post in Downtown Lucedale. According to local lore, President Ronald Reagan scratched his back on this post when he visited this small Mississippi town. I couldn't find out what year this was so if you know, please post it in your log. However, I did scratch my back while taking the coordinates.

In order to the get the coordinates to the final stage of this cache, you will need to do some counting and a little math when you arrive at the scratching post. Use the following key after you have discovered the answers to the questions.

N 3055.5AB
W 088o 35.0CD

For AB, count the number of notches below the word scratch on any corner of the post and subtract the number of letters in Ronald Reagan's first and last name.

For CD, count the number of bold black letters on any side of the post and add 10.

Don't forget to "Scratch one for the Gipper" before you move on to find the cache. The final stage is a nice stroll through town, but you might want to drive if you are in a hurry.
