This cache may have been impacted by the 27th January 2025 bush fire that burnt through the Little Desert NP into the edge of Dimboola.

It has been disabled until it is safe and for the CO to be able to check the current condition of the cache.

Once checked and replaced if necessary, the CO should place an Owner Maintenance log and then Enable the cache.

Geocache Description:

Check out the Little Desert National Park on the edge of the township of Dimboola

 


The Little Desert has some great attractions such as Horseshoe Bend camping ground & a network of walking tracks along the river & Pomponderoo Hill Nature Walk (30min).

Some of the best white sandy 4WD tracks are in the park also.

To open the cache a visit to the historical train in the park on the cnr of Lloyd st & High st Dimboola S 36° 27.439 E 142° 01.800 is a must as a white 3 digit code is on the front & side of the train, just discard the "J"

To find the cache there are 2 options of travel.

2WD access.
The longest way to the cache and it’s also a dry weather track only but you can take a walk around the Pomponderoo Hill lookout walking track on the way.

4WD access.
Just follow the GPS for the most direct route to the cache, but don't stop there as straight past the cache are some of the best sandy tracks are right in front of you.

You are looking for a clear Otter box that needs a code to open it.
