Geocache Description:

This micro-cache "welcomes" you to Kings Mountain traveling from the West. Bring your own pen since this is cache only has a log.

During the Revolutionary War one of the most important battles was the one fought just south of this location, on the top of Kings Mountain. President Theodore Roosevelt would later describe the battle as the "Turning Point" of the Revolutionary War. At the top of the mountain there is a monument which was erected to those who fought in the battle. At this cache, you will see a smaller replica of the monument “welcoming” you to Kings Mountain. There is plenty of parking close by this cache, to make this an easy stop and grab! Lots of landscaping makes this slightly more challenging than it otherwise might be. Once you’re done it’s a short trip to see the actual monument if you’re so "inclined".
