A cache to Commemorate Team Mars 1000 Finds
This cache was placed to honor local McHenry cachers Team Mars 1000 finds. Over the last year or so of caching, Team Mars in en route to filling in their calendars for 365 straight days of caching. You can see by their profile that they have found every kind of cache out there. The most they have gotten in one day was 46 finds on 05/28/2012. The furthest they have traveled for a cache is 1695 miles for "whos on the phone" (GC15P59)
They are also some local competition for FTF on new caches in the area. (They got the honorary FTF on this one).
They have given back to the caching community by placing caches of their own for us to find.
The official parking for Cold Springs Park is off of DePaul Ct. There may be another spot too, if you are comfortable not parking in an official lot. From either spot, there will be semi groomed trails, almost the entire way. There is a bit of a bushwhack at the end near GZ. Obviously, the terrain will vary depending on the time of the year you go after this one.
I have started this cache with a bunch of toys for the mini cachers and put a few of my own "seed" caches in there for the finders to take an hide. If you take a "seed" cache, please hide it somewhere in the area so I can go and get a smiley too.
