For years, Mountain Brook has been called the "Tiny Kingdom" because of its reputation as an elitist, snobby neighborhood. There was even a joke book published back in 2003, using Jeff Foxworthy's lead in of "You know you're from Mountain Brook if...". Whether this reputation is true or not isn't the issue for this cache. Cherokee Road is one of the main thoroughfares leading you through Mountain Brook. It takes you on a twisty road past many of the beautiful "old money" houses of Mountain Brook, as well as the Mountain Brook Country Club golf course.
This cache is located at the intersection of Cherokee Road and Hwy 280. For some reason, this road is marked (on both ends) by two stone walls, topped with iron lamp posts, as if the old architects are welcoming you to the Tiny Kingdom! There is parking off the side of the road (on the "coming out" side) of Cherokee. Depending on time of year, you may encounter "firewood trucks" as this is a popular hangout. Other than that, the only muggles to watch out for are cars waiting at the traffic light.
You're looking for a black micro. As always, please take care removing the cache, and place back as originally found. Log only, BYOP. Safety warning (and hint): This is a pretty busy road, so please don't endanger yourself by running back and forth across Cherokee checking each wall. It is located on the same side of the street as parking listed above.
The hint is not a dead giveaway, but it does point you in the right direction. Read only after you've given it a good look and/or you're "geosenses" are spent. :-) Congrats to Tron2010 on FTF!!
