The Reserve is named after Evelyn Mavis Trilby Halliday (1897 -1990),
who bequeathed to the District Council of Stirling her Wright Street Property as a recreational Reserve for the general benefit of the community.
From 1855 to about 1930 the Stirling Park and Woorabinda were owned by the Halliday family who farmed the Stirling Park (‘Halliday’s Gully’) section as a market garden.
No 10 Wight Street, Stirling was one of the ‘Halliday Cottages' c1910, the house has since been extended from its original completion.
The Wright Street Stirling Dog Park was completed in 2011 and opened in May/June of that year. So bring the dog and the family and enjoy the walking trails of the reserve and the dog park.
The cache is before some remnants of days gone by; it is also surrounded by more English landscapes a bit of a contrast to the reserve which is mostly Australian Native.
The sat loc is a bit sketchy due to tree cover, you are looking for a Borch drill box container. Enjoy the reserve & doggy themed cache.
