Geocache Description:

Small camouflaged cache along a little-used bridleway with just about room for a GC, but bring your own pen.

Ample parking available at the nearby pub, or there is an adjacent lay-by on London Road. Due to the steep terrain, do not make a bee-line from the road, but head for the trailhead waypoint to guide you to the bridleway.

A small but charming little church that has been cut-off by the modern A3 and is now only approachable along a public bridleway.
NOTE: Access is not possible from the lay-by on the northbound A3.

Not much is known about the history of this little church which sadly is too small for any bells, or pretty much any practical modern-day use really.

Amazingly these buildings were often moved from location to location, and this one is no exception. The only records that exist suggests that it was last bought at auction for just £1 0s 0d, although the new owner then had to bear the costs of moving it, and erecting it on the current site.

As is so often the case, village churches and village pubs are never very far apart - this cache being set to coincide with the Hampshire Mid-Week Event #43 at the nearby Hampshire Hog in July 2012.

If anybody would like to expand to this series please do, I would just ask that you do not let PealRinger know first as he will not be keeping track of the numbers and names to avoid duplication
