Geocache Description:

Cahce is a micro c/w log and pencil, no gloves needed!

Kilrea, "Church of the Crosses", is located near the banks of the River Bann and on the fringes of the Sperrin Mountains, visible to the west. The spire of St. Patrick's Parish Church dominates from the hill visited by Ireland's Patron Saint. The school nearby is one of several in the area which celebrate St. Columba's journey into exile 'beyond these shores' on the 'thin' island of Iona, off the west coast of Scotland. In the 70's cachers would have enjoyed the sights and sounds of Corncrakes and the little steam engines of the Derry Central Railway Line. Both are gone, now: casulaties of 'progress' in agriculture and transport.
The fences of this micro-wood are in disrepair so manage children and pets carefully at the roadside.
