Carcassonne #5: Bridges, Castles & Bazaars Multi-Cache
Carcassonne #5: Bridges, Castles & Bazaars

in our disclaimer.
The fifth in a set of a dozen of caches in the St. Charles area. The series is based off the Carcassonne game and its expansions. (If you're going to attempt the whole set, read carefully below.)
There aren't many castles or bazaars in this area, so this multicache focuses on bridges (although the final container could be near a metaphorical castle). It is a 2-stage multicache. Stage 1 has no physical container, but requires a visit to the posted coordinates. On the north side of the Main St. Bridge you will find a plaque. You are looking for two names in particular. The first is the name of the man referenced in the legend, and the second is the surname of the mayor/newspaper editor. You are going to take a modified version of gematria, or assigning letters to numbers, to get values for these names. The following translation is used: A=1, B=2, C=3, ...., I=9, J=10, K=20, L=30, ..., R=90, S=100, T=200, ..., Z=800. Take the sum of the legend's name and SUBTRACT it from the following North coordinate: N 41 55.124 (ex: 41 55 124 -______ 2 012 ___ 41 53 112) ADD the mayor's surname to the following West coordinate: W 088 18.894 A few notes: *Each cache in this set will have a letter and/or number taped to the inside of the cache. These will tie-in to the final puzzle. If you're going to attempt the whole set in the long run, please write the letter/number down. *Please be sure to put the container back well-hidden. Congrats to GeoGil for the FTF (and for being the first person to get 2 FTFs on my hides).
