Well, OK they have not exactly been mourning the loss of the BBLB cache.
The truth of the matter is I bought some cache containers on eBay and they turned out to look nothing like the picture of a stone that advertised them and I have been at a loss as to where to hide them.
Small purpleish coloured stones dont exactly blend into the Lancashire cache scape. And whilst sat parked up today reading the paper and enjoying Womans Hour on Radio 4 I suddenly thought "there are no caches round here, and I have this thing in the glove box of the car.... Hmmmm.... I have a cunning plan...."
The rest is history...
Dont expect this to be a great caching experience.
Dont expect a tupperware box full of swappables, trackables or other goodies.
Dont expect to find a hidden oasis of calm and nature in the middle of a bustling metropolis.
Do however expect a simple to find micro with ample drive by and grab parking suitable for days when its raining, or when you are pressed for time, or just need a cache for your day grid, this one IS just all about the numbers.
The area is quite litter free, but gets very busy at the weekends when Sunday league football and the allotments are in full swing. Its also popular with dog walkers too....
UPDATE: 22/10/12 - the small purple stones proved to be more porous than a sponge and equally adept at soaking up water and ruining the log - so I have replaced the cache container in the same spot but with another stone....
Thank you Schutz for the superb log and HandiCaching score - Link below

Update 24/07/13 - cache container changed to something a little less likely to get water logged or thrown in the nearby river.
