Geocache Description:

Should be a fairly easy P&G. BYOP!

Five Corners Church
One of Hermantown’s oldest churches is at the corner of Midway and Maple Grove Roads. The building was built in 1904 by volunteers from Duluth’s West End Swedish Mission, who were helped by a few local settlers. The church started non-denominationally, and was originally named “Emmanuel Free Church”. The date it became a Lutheran church is unknown at this time. Even though the McKinley School across Maple Grove Road burned in the Fires of 1918, the church remained unscathed. While a new building was being built to replace McKinley, this church was used as the school. Today, the church is known as the Faith Baptist Church. The original building still stands, but has been added on to.This is Cache #3 on Kaylee's fabulous geocaching voyage that is part of her Girl Scout Silver Award Project.
