CASA DA XILOGRAVURA
THE HOUSE OF THE WOODCUT
A Casa da Xilogravura está localizada no bairro do Jaguaribe, em frente à Igreja Nossa Senhora da Saúde, e foi Inaugurada em 1987. Trata-se de um museu particular instalado em prédio construído em 1928 que, anteriormente, abrigou o Mosteiro de São João, de freiras beneditinas. O Museu possui um grande acervo de obras em xilogravura, isto é, gravuras feitas por meio de impressão sobre o papel (ou outro suporte) de uma matriz entalhada em madeira.
O cache é um tubo pequeno camuflado contendo só o log (leve uma caneta). Está localizado do lado de fora do museu, não sendo necessário pagar para visitar o interior do museu (embora valha à pena). O museu abre todos os dias (exceto terças e quartas), das 9 às 12h e das 14 às 17h.
The House of the Woodcut is located in the village of Jaguaribe, opposite the Church of Our Lady of Health, and was inaugurated in 1987. It is a private museum installed in a building constructed in 1928, which previously housed the Monastery of St. John, of the Benedictine nuns. The Museum has a large collection of works in woodcuts, that is, prints made by printing on paper (or other media) from a wood carved matrix.
The cache is a small camouflaged tube containing only the log (bring along a pen). It is located outside of the museum, so there is no need to pay to visit the interior of the museum (although it is worth it). The museum is open every day (except Tuesdays and Wednesdays) from 9 to 12h and from 14 to 17h.
