Geocache Description:

Remember when it was all just map & compass, no satellites to show the way and grid references were how we communicated locations.

So here is a little challenge to revive your map reading skills. All the grid references are found on map "OS Explorer 237 Norwich, Wymondham, Attleborough & Watton – EAST sheet" This should be one printed in 2006 or newer (the clues have been updated to work on the new 2017 updates). So spread the map out and get hunting. (I've given the references in 6 digits as that is the way I was taught in the Scouts!)

A: How many corners can you see at 109 119?

B: How many acre plantation at 133 107?

C: How many trees can you see in new plantation at 097 021?

D: How many islands can you see at 214 944?

E: What number can you see in the red box at 241 074?

Now substitute your answers into the following N 52º A (C-E).D (A+D) A E 001º 0 (C+B-E).AD (B-E)

You can check your answer by adding ALL in individual digits together (the total should be 43).

The published co-ordinates are for a great place to fly kites and are not far from our home.
