This cache has been archived.

NextStep_: I could not find the first stage, either, and no longer have the materials to recreate it, so it is time for this one to go. Final stage has been removed.

How Geocaching Works

Geocache Description:

This is the third of a series of easy, kid friendly caches based on the colors of light. Write down the codes contained in each cache to be able to find the series final. Each will have some relation to the color in the cache title and will contain two code numbers to be used in finding the series final - White - Color of Light, since white light is composed of all colors of light. Be sure to record these code numbers.

Yellow is the color of lemons, canaries and fields of goldenrod. In the fall, some of the most stunning trees are those whose leaves turn yellow. Yellow is also often used as a warning color, in traffic signs and protective equipment. Yellow light is usually assumed to have a wavelength in the range of 570 - 590 nm.

In geocaching terms, yellow is associated with Multis and that which we all treasure - SMILEYs.

The coordinates will take you to the first stage of this two stage multi. There you will find a lock and lock container filled with yellow Lego Duplo blocks. You will need to build the SMILEY pictured below. Once you have, turn it over and the coordinates for the final stage will be revealed. If you get second stage coordinates that are over 0.25 miles away, you have not built it correctly.

Please dissassemble the legos and replace them in the container for the next cacher. Proceed to the second and final stage, which is also a lock and lock. Remember to record the frequency and wavelength codes for the final cache in this series.

This cache was placed in the Miller-Smith Preserve with the permission of Washtenaw County Parks.

Congratulations to Tessandfriends and HelloLola on their shared FTF. FTF prize is a Yellow clip on LED flashlight.
