Welcome to Central Illinois' oldest active Wherigo cache!

This is a short tour of the Peoria River Walk, showcasing the sculptures of artist Preston Jackson. The posted coordinates will take you to a parking area that makes a good starting point. If you walk, it'll be around 1 mile round trip. To complete this cache, you will visit a number of sculptures in the area, then you will be guided to a container with a log sheet to sign.

To complete a Wherigo, you'll need to use a Garmin Oregon, Garmin Colorado, or a smartphone.

If you've never done a Wherigo before, this one is pretty simple. You'll be given a number of "tasks" to perform, which you can access from a menu. Once you've completed all the tasks, you need to navigate to a "location," is also accessed from the menu. Once you've found and signed the log, you can log this cache here, and you can log the Wherigo on Whereigo.com as well if you'd like.

This cartridge has been successfully tested on Garmin Oregon and on an Android phone.

Garmin Oregon/Colorado:

  • Download the appropriate cartridge for your device from here: Wherigo cartridge
  • Save the file into the /Wherigo folder on your device
  • Launch the Wherigo app from the main menu

Android:

  • Download and install the WhereYouGo app.
  • Download the "PocketPC" cartridge for your device from here: Wherigo cartridge
  • Save the file into the /sdcard/WhereYouGo folder on your device
  • Launch the WhereYouGo app and tap "Start."
  • Note: I've noticed that WhereYouGo sometimes shuts off the GPS receiver, so check on that if you're at a waypoint and it isn't triggering. You can also shut off the "Disable when hidden" setting under Settings > GPS and location.

iPhone:

  • I don't have any firsthand experience with iPhone, but you can use Whereigo by Pi-Soft.

Some Wherigo apps are a little flaky, so save your game often, normally by exiting and relaunching the app. Also, if you're having problems with the Wherigo site accepting your completion code, try only entering the first 15 characters of it.

If you have problems, or have a new device to report, feel free to let me know and I'll do my best to help. Have fun!
