Geocache Description:

Oversized, camo-taped pill bottle hidden near the entrance to one of Dearborn County's historic church cemeteries. Please be respectful of the site, and access only during daylight hours.

Methodist congregations first began meeting along the West Fork of Tanners Creek in 1824, when a log church known as Union Chapel was built. A stone church followed in 1836, which was subsequently replaced by a frame building in 1867. That structure, which was nearer to the banks of the creek, had to be moved in 1897 when changes to stream's course endangered the building. It was relocated to a plot adjacent to the cemetery, where it remained in use until the early 1940's. The building was torn down in 1962, and now, only the historic cemetery remains. Some gravestones dating to the 1830's remain legible.

I started this cache off with a small assortment of treasures. There is also a special First-to-Find prize....one of my brand new signature items (see my avatar, and contact me if you're a collector who wants to trade). Happy travels to all who seek this cache....and happy caching, as well!
