Geocache Description:

This is a micro container located in Chester le Street Riverside Park which is on the far end of the Riverside Parkrun course (the start/finish area was already heavily cache populated).
Please locate the cache back firmly to keep it in is place and remember to bring a pen/pencil to sign the log and beware of Muggles as this area can be busy.

This is my fourth ParkRun Cache the others being at Sunderland, Durham, Teesside.

Riverside Parkrun is a weekly free 3 lap accurately measured 5Km timed run which starts and finishes near the cafe in the park every Saturday morning at 9am
The first run is on 14/7/12 and this cache is planted to commemorate that.

Parkrun organise free, weekly, 5km timed runs all around the world. They are open to everyone, free, and are safe and easy to take part in.

In the North East there are Parkruns held at Sunderland (which I attend on a weekly basis), Durham, Newcastle, Gateshead, Middlesbrough and Sedgefield, Whitley Bay, Redcar and Tees Barrage all and like all UK Parkruns start at 9am.

These events take place in pleasant parkland surroundings and encourage people of every ability to take part; from those taking their first steps in running to Olympians; from juniors to those with more experience.

Who knows i might see you there one day :)

Created in the 1930s, Riverside Park in Chester-le-Street has always been popular with residents, as well as attracting visitors from across the region. During the 1990s it was redeveloped and today includes artist-designed ornamental gardens, an events arena, play area and paddling pool, in addition to a park centre with cafe and toilets.
