This is a trackables Swap Cache, holding initially two TBs and two GCs. Please DO NOT retrieve any of these without replacing them with another TB/GC. And please swap TB for TB and GC for GC.
(Note April 2014: Unfortunately, the cache was recently lost and currently only holds one trackable. If anyone would be kind to drop a few TBs and/or GCs without grabbing one in return, the swap cache function would be up and running again. And to the rest of you: please respect the rules and don't grab trackables without leaving any. CO.)
As Central Cairns doesn't have many caches above micro size, this cache is to establish a place for swapping trackables. It is located by the beautiful Cairns Esplanade. The cache owners have several times been sitting on a bench near the cache, watching fiddler crabs displaying on the mudflats just beneath. It's a great spot for watching mudskippers, too, at the right times of the year. Or just for relaxing and enjoying the best of Cairns.
The cache is held in place by stones in order not to fly off in heavy winds etc. Please take care to place the cache carefully back in a secured position supported by the stones. Please also contribute to keeping the cache in good shape. The cache owners reside far away and only now and then visit Cairns, but local cacher walterhellmut has very kindly offered to see after the cache and take care of required maintenance.
The cache is best reached at low tide. You may get your feet muddy whenever you go!
Needless to say, the Esplanade is full of muggles, to take care and watch out while logging and/or swapping trackables. The cache easily "dies" if someone spots you.
