366 - Friends, Fun, Falls, Wasps, & Cops Challenge Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

Nomex: As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Geocache Description:

This cache IS AT the posted coordinates. You must meet the pre-requisites before logging a find, but may sign the log and post a note at any time.

You may log this as a find if you meet one or more of the following pre-requisites :

1. Have a consecutive day streak of at least 366 days.
2. Have finds on all 366 calendar days.
3. Make this your 366th find, or your 1,366th find, or your 2,366th find, or your 3,366th find, etc.......

There's no need for you to provide evidence as long as your statistics are available for viewing.

All good things must come to an end, and today, July 15th, 2012 marks the end of my consecutive day geocaching streak at 366 days! I've thought long and hard about this, but 366 is the right number, not a day more. I'd like to thank my family and friends for putting up with me during the streak, but mostly for supporting something that they knew was important to me. For that I'm grateful.

If you've ever geocached for 366 days straight, you know that there are days when you're either in a hurry, don't have the right tools, don't have the right clothes, or haven't done your homework. My 366 day streak left my body scarred, my ego bruised (5 cases of poison oak, 12 wasp stings, and at least 5 falls with minor injuries), and my car dented, but I wouldn't change a thing.

I'm so happy to have discovered geocaching, and I look forward to the thousands of adventures, and even some of the bumps and bruises that still await. If you're logging this cache to commemorate a streak of your own, take a moment to reflect on your own adventures and have a little laugh. And please don't fall down the hill while you're here.

You'll find that this cache is just a short walk from the cove, with an elevation change of about 160' along the way. The cache is close to an enclosure that contains some interesting mechanical equipment that seems to be working hard. You're looking for a 35 mm film canister. The D/T is based on both the difficulty of completing the pre-requisites, and the fact that this cache is on an island. Please bring your own pen.

Enjoy your day at Angel Island!
