Geocache Description:

This should be a quick cache and dash but with such gorgeous scenery why would you want to dash?

Potholer was named by some local children to describe the big potholes that have been washed into the granite bedrock by mother nature herself. With the swirling of rock, sand and water these tubs are big enough to sit in. There is some nice flat water above the waterfall that is canoe or kayak friendly but a little bit of a walk to get your gear up there. The little rapids are excellent for children to play in and get shot down the little sluice way. Parents please use caution and common sense. Any waterfall area comes with some dangers, slippery rock and of course drop offs. The cache is half way up the trail heading to Potholers. I highly recommend you grab the cache and walk the extra minute or 2 up stream to see the falls and the beautiful picnic area above the falls. Bring bug spray and a bag lunch and please don't forget the camera. This place has been describes as one of the most photogenic areas in the Adirondacks.

The parking for the cache is just south of the cache a 100 feet or so. I'll get the parking coordinates the next time I go up. There is a small creek that goes into the big creek with camping sites on both sides. Parking and camping spots are both first come first serve. Please respect the campers in the area and use the footpath that skirts around the camping area. Please take your time with these caches. It's well worth a few trips to get all of these caches.
