Continuing the Quaker Neck Tour is a tribute cache to the Maryland Municipal League.
This cache can be found in the same location as an old archived cache placed by the Maryland Municipal League and was part of the MML's geotrail. We thought that the location was so good, that another cache should be placed in the same spot to continue the spirit of good family oriented geocaching in Chestertown.
While visiting GZ, dont forget to have a look at the old Chestertown Railroad Station a few yards down the tracks.
The Chestertown Railroad Station was built in 1902-1903 in the Queen Anne style. It is 1 1/2 stories tall and exterior dimensions are 17' x 47' with a 4'-6" x 12' bay on the track side. The building has a brick base 4' high with timber frame and rough textured stucco to the plate line.
A hip roof with a wide bracketed overhang that provided shelter for train passengers extends on all four sides. Supporting timber brackets match the timbers in the exterior walls. Small gable pediments protrude above the overhang on the north and south gables. The central chimney which served the original potbellied stove, the only heat source for the station, still exists. The majority of the interior woodwork, including wainscoting, doors, transoms, sash, and trim remains in nearly intact condition. The Cache is tucked nicely away and has enough for small swag and trackables
