Tree Nursery Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Ikosaeder: I'm very sad to announce that we've decided to archive this cache.

It's been a great pleasure to hide and take care of this place, read all your nice stories about your experiences, and in general spread the joy of geocaching.
But now it's time for this little jewel to retire.

Maybe we'll have another cache somewhere around here one day.

Geocache Description:

Tree Nursery

After I found many nice caches in the area I thought I should leave a cache here myself. But where to start? I’ve chosen the Village Green because it’s easy to reach and really beautiful to look at while you sit on a bench and eat your lunch pakets. So don’t forget to bring them.

Wikipedia says: “A village green is a common open area within a settlement. Traditionally, a village green was often common grassland at the centre of an agricultural or other rural settlement, and was used for grazing.  […]  The village green also provided, and may still provide, an open air meeting place for the local people, which may be used for public celebrations such as May Day festivities.”

The Village Green in Farnham Common nowadays does not get used for grazing or May Day festivities (any more) but is a place for resting and finding tranquillity even with it being near the main road.
About two years ago – in summer 2010 – the children of the local Middle School planted several fruit trees during a project about nature. It was thought of as a classroom in open air, even got the benches and kind of a teacher’s table, but what a shame it does not get used often.

The cache is close to that outdoor classroom. It looks like a small forgotten lunchbox. It should be big enough for a few small trading goods, travel bugs or trackable coins.
If it gets too overgrown by brambles to be found please let me know. Although I’m just a visitor from Germany myself I’ve asked someone local to look after it.
