Geocache Description:

Topico is a station building that Akita Station Building. Co., Ltd. manages.
the cache is near the west exit of Topico. Please bring your pen.

The antecedent of Topico is "Akita Station Department Store" that opened a business in 1961. It completely rebuilt, the name was changed to "Topico", and business was restarted on March 16, 1997. It is set up as an annex to Akita Station, and have a convenient structure that can enter from "Topico Guchi" of the 2nd floor to Akita Station.

The first floor has the convenience store and the fast food shop, and the second floor has the souvenir shop and the bookstore, and the third floor has the hometown restaurant and the takkyubin(home delivery service) counter. The rent-a-cycle is lent free of charge in Akita City Tourist Board Information Centre in the place toward a central ticket gate from the second floor of Topico. When you come round Akita City, you may use it. The use time is up to 18 o'clock from nine o'clock.

　トピコの前身は，1961年に開業した「秋田ステーションデパート」です。1997年3月16日，全面建替えを行い，「トピコ」へ名称変更して営業を再開しました。秋田駅に併設され，2階の「トピコ口」からは，秋田駅への入場も可能で，便利な構造となっています。
　１階はコンビニやファーストフード，２階は土産物屋，本屋，３階は飲食店や郷土料理屋，宅急便カウンターがあります。なお，トピコ2階から中央改札口に向かったところにある秋田市観光案内所では，無料でレンタサイクルを借りることができるので，秋田市巡りをする際は利用するとよいでしょう。利用時間は，9時から18時までです。
