Good athleticism might be required
This cache is located on top of a mountain in the verry scenic "Valle della Luna", Valley of the Moon. The Spot first caught my attention, when i was driving the SP74 east to west. I looked up to my left an found, that there is a verry characteristic rock, that looks like the head of a Falcon. My sence for adventure awakes the desire in me to climb up there, an the only logic consequence was to take a cache container with me.
So i came back a few days later, equiped with my Hiking Boots, a backpack with 2 Liters Water, some Powerbars, a first aid Kit, my mobile phone and in backround a person who knew where i am and what to do if i don´t give a all clear call after a estimated time. And i highly recomend you, to see this as a minimum requirement to attempt this Cache. If something happens to you, otherwise nobody will find you up there in this clefty area.
I will not give you any advise wich way or entry to take. I was up there two times ans tried two different ways up and two different ways down. Each of them had it´s advantages and it´s disatvantages. So please find the best route FOR YOU.
In most of the lower sections it could be verry thorny. Watch out! I rated the Terain "just" 4,5 because its possible to do it without special equipment such as climbing gear. But for shure it is not a playground. The Difficulty rating consideres only how hard the Cachecontainer is to find, once you reached the Coordinates. And now i wish you good luck and a safe trip. Versucht diesen Cache nicht unvorbereitet, geht ausschließlich mit festem Schuhwerk, nehmt keine Kinder mit, geht nicht, wenn ihr nicht bei bester Gesundheit seid!!!
Sportlichkeit könnte notwendig sein.
Dieser Cache wurde von mir auf einem Berg im atemberaubenden "Valle della Luna" (Tal des Mondes) plaziert. Der Platz ist mir zum ersten mal aufgefallen, als ich die SP74 von Ost nach West gefahren bin. Ich schaute den Berg zu meiner Linken hinauf unf bemerkte einen sehr auffälligen Felsen der meiner Meinung nach wie der Kopf eines Falken aussieht. Meine Abenteuersinn war geweckt und ich wollte da hoch steigen. Die logische Konsequenz war, einen Cachebehälter mit zu nehmen und ihn dort oben zu plazieren.
Also kam ich ein paar Tage später mit Wanderstiefeln, einem Rucksack mit 2 Litern Wasser, einigen Müsliriegeln, einem Erste- Hilfe- Set, einem Handy und einer einer Person im Hintergrund wieder, die wusste wo ich bin und was zu tun ist, wenn ich mich nicht zu einer vereinbarten Zeit melde. Und diese Ausstattung rate ich jedem der den Cache versuchen will, als Minimalausrüstung anzusehen. Sollte irgendwas pasieren findet einen sonst keiner in diesem kluftigen Gebiet.
Ich werde keine Route oder Einstigspunkt vorschlagen. Ich war zwei mal dort oben und habe dabei zwei verschieden Aufstige und zwei verschiedene Abstiege probiert. Jede Route hatte ihre Vor- und Nachteile. Also bitte findet selbst die FÜR EUCH beste Route.
In den tiefer gelegenen Arealen ist es Stellenweise sehr dornig. Aufpassen! Ich habe das Terain "nur" auf 4,5 eingestuft, das es auch ohne Spezielausrüstung wie z.B. Kletterausrüstung machbar ist. Aber ganz sicher ist das Gelände kein Spielplatz. Die Difficulty- Wertung berücksichtigt lediglich, wie einfach die Dose zu finden ist, nachdem man die Koordinaten erreicht hat.
