This cache is dedicated to a special cache hound, Lydia. Lydia has the incredible ability to sniff out a cache, way before any human. Many times the deceptively frail biped TrailDawgs were looking one place, she was looking at the cache.
Many miles were spent on the trail with her, making a serpentine path in front of us, but never out of sight. She was always glad to meet anyone that crossed our paths and always made instant friends.
Alas, she tore her ACL a few years ago, so her days of long hikes are over. She still gets upset when the TrailDawgs gear up and leave her behind. Alas, it must be, or risk the injury again.
So, to ensure there are still trail hides she can participate on, this was placed. It is a nice short hike that will likely be three times longer to her than any of us, just because she likes to explore!
All you need is love, the love of a good hound. All they need is love, of a caring human to keep them safe and happy. Here’s to all those cache hounds!
With that said, that means any of you biped cachers can make the journey as well. Enjoy the hike, stop and smell everything (well, almost everything), take a dip in the creek, use a tree, but get out there!
