This is the site of Pen y Ddinas hillfort which has the remains of over 50 hut circles from the Iron Age. You may also be able to find the remains of three or four defensive ramparts. Another feature of great antiquity at Pen y Ddinas is the ‘Rocking Stone’ or 'Tudno's Cradle'. This rock is said to have been an instrument of judgement. The accused stood on the stone and if it did not rock they were found guilty and thrown to their death over the cliffs below! Give it a try!
You can park in the ski slope car park and find your way up to Pen y Ddinas by following the wooden markers with white arrows.
The cache is a plastic box with some items for swapping hidden below the boulders near the rocking stone.
