Geocache Description:

Celebrate with us on International Geocaching Day!

The 2012 Block Party will be on August 18 from 1 pm to 3 pm (Central Time). This is also the second International Geocaching Day! The celebration will be held outside of the Groundspeak HQ in Seattle. Well I can't afford a trip to Seattle so lets have a nice small gathering here!

Block Party attendees will earn a special icon and enjoy great activities. Attendees to this event will not get a special icon, but will get to enjoy the following activities:

  • Staring contest with the fish in the fish tank. This one takes alot of skill!
  • Geocaching stories from fellow geocachers!
  • Facepainting! (NOT RECOMMENDED, all I have is cans of spray paint)
  • Eat Jalapeno Poppers and other snack foods (If you would like to bring snack foods please do, I'll have the Poppers, probably rice pudding, and drinks.)
  • Geocache Container creativity contest, Everyone bring a creative geocache and we shall vote on who's is best and there will be a prize!
  • Creative container swap! Everyone that brings a creative container will swap with someone elses and these need to be hidden in the area shortly thereafter! (Out of towners can hide them in the area and I'll gladly help maintain them, or take them back to your town and hide them there)
  • Egg toss, what team can get the most distance? I'll provide eggs, no hard boiled!
  • Attending this event will earn you the "International Geocaching Day" Souvenir for your geocaching.com profile page!

We will provide more information as the event approaches.

There should be a fair amount of street parking, should not have any big issues

One of the "thrills" of the geocaching Block Party is getting to meet the people that run geocaching.com and the reviewers and such. Maybe we can talk our new local reviewer into coming to this one if they are not already going to the real deal in Seattle.

In case your GPS or mine is off, the address of the house is 3614 Shell Ave. We've had quite a few events here in the past should look familier
