Inside a ROC Bunker
The Great Bedwyn underground bunker was built for the Royal Observer Corps in 1961 and not closed until 1991 - just 4 years before the ROC was stood down. Why it survived as a commissioned facility for so long (compared with so many others in the area) is unclear. The bunkers were a creation of the Cold War and were built to give the ROC members protection from a nuclear attack. Over 1500 were built nationwide between 1958 and 1968. Today the Bedwyn Bunker is externally well kept and locked away on PRIVATE land however it can be viewed from the waypoint listed below.

THE CACHE
The cache is NOT within the perimeter of the bunker's site so please do not climb the gate or barge through the hedges.
The co-ordinates will take you to the gates of the adjacent pumping station. Again DO NOT ENTER as the cache can only be accessed from the roadside.
I am advised there are man-traps, werewolves, electric security devices and evil spirits awaiting those dumb enough to enter either compound without permission - you have been warned!
The cache is magnetic and please bring your own pen.
You can park at GZ or reach the cache by approaching along footpaths from Great Bedwyn
If there are Thames Water workers in the pump station then great stealth will be needed!!
Congratulations to SiWhite for being First To Find
