Laukhammar er en av de eldste gårdene på Tysnes. Det må lenge ha bodd folk på Laukhammar. Ikke langt unna ligger Laukhammarsåta (214 m.o.h), der en finner den eneste dokumenterte bygdeborgen på Tysnes, som er datert til rundt år 400 e. Kr. Laukhammer ligger i et kalksteinbelte, og har blant annet solgt kalk til Bergenhus slott på 1516/20-tallet. I dag er Laukhammar en populær plass for hyttefolk, og har bl.a. restaurant og overnattingsmuligheter.

Laukhammar is one of the oldest farms on Tysnes. People have probably lived on Laukhammar for a very long time. Not far away from the farm is Laukhammar mountain, where the oldest documented fort on Tysnes, which is from around 400 AD. Lauhkhammer lies in a belt of calcium, which has earlier been sold to Bergenhus castle, around year 1516-1520. Today, Laukhammer is a popular place for vacation-home owners, and there is also a restaurant and overnight accomodations awailable.
