Back in 2004 one of the caches on my "to do" list was "The Big Oh-5" by Screed92. Unfortunately it went missing before I had a chance to look for it. In his archive log Screed said:
" I have now decided to call Audubon Park the black hole of geocaching. This was my second placed here and the second that went missing... I don't think I'll be putting another cache anywhere near this place."
I always thought this was funny and the name stuck in my mind. Through the years I've watched caches here come and go, mostly go. Whenever a new one pops up I try to find it right away, before it goes missing. I've often thought about placing a cache in Audubon Park myself but have never gotten around to it until now.
I tried to hide the cache in a way that will last, but who knows. I'd suggest getting it quickly, before it too is sucked into the black hole.
You'll need to bring your own pen or pencil to sign the log.
