This is another Sporting Memory cache placed along the Amy Gillett bikeway. How could we not have a cache dedicated to Cadel Evans’s magnificent 2011 win at the Tour de France on the Amy Gillett bikeway. Evans finished second on Stage 1 of the Tour de France, and won Stage 4, the second Tour de France stage win of his career. Evans then led the mountain classification after stage 4 for a single day. In 2007 and 2008 Evans finished overall 2nd in the Tour de France. Evans started his international career in 1995 in the Australian Mountain Biking Program. He won bronze medals at the 1995 Junior world mountain bike championship and Junior world road time trial championship, and silver medals at the 1997 and 1999 under-23 world championships. He switched to Road Cycling in 2000.
