Geocache Description:

An easy-access cache in an ancient graveyard, hidden with the kind permission of the vicar.

Park on the road by the church Lychgate, there’s plenty of space (except on Sunday mornings)

St Michaels, Barton is a grade I listed building. The Church is sited on a mound in a circular churchyard, suggesting possible pagan origins. St. Michael was a traditional dedication when Christianity supplanted pagan gods. The tower and Nave date to the 12th Century and are built in the Norman style with an impressive double arch inside. The church is kept open, so once you’ve found the cache, feel free to pop in and have a look around, there are leaflets inside explaining more. Look out for memorials to relatives of William Wordsworth.

The cache is not hidden in a grave. Please show respect by not walking on the graves. There is no need to move any stones in the wall, either.
