Geocache Description:

A nice nature hike with learning opportunities. This cache will be available between May and October. It can't be maintained in winter.

The location is a educational nature trail in Mercer, WI. It is located off of Martha Lake Rd. Four generations of my family have been spending summer weekends and holidays at our cottage on Martha Lake in Mercer. We love the north woods of WI. We started geocaching this summer and were enchanted, we really loved the idea of hiding a cache on the nature trail close to the cottage. This is a special nature trail that was developed and is maintained by the students of the Mercer K-12 school. The trail features a yurt, a bridge, and a council ground. Each year students share their knowledge by developing more signs and adding them to the trail to help hikers learn about the ecology of the area.

The cache container is a plastic tub the size of a shoebox, it is wrapped in camouflage netting.

There are two ways to get to the cache. The nature trail from Martha Lake Rd leads to the cache. Near the trail-head there is a dirt road off Martha Lake with a parking area, from there a wide dirt road that is closed to vehicles leads to the cache.
