This cache can be taken in as part of your Dunbar tour - a great beach, a children's playpark for little cachers and a glimpse of an important part of the town's history.
This cache is nestled near two important Dunbar sites - the RNLI Coastguard Station and The Assembly Rooms and this cache was 'born' on Lifeboat Day 21st July 2012. There is ample parking opposite the children's playpark, be mindful not to park in the cross-hatched area by the Coastguard Station itself.
Dunbar has the second oldest Lifeboat Station in Scotland at nearly 200 years old. Today, the station operates two lifeboats – an inshore D class and an all-weather Trent class lifeboat, stationed at nearby Skateraw Harbour. The Assembly Rooms building, which can be viewed through the various chinks in the wall but better from Church Street, was built for town gatherings of neighbouring farmers and later was a hub for dances and community gatherings. Sadly in recent years has fallen into disrepair despite past plans to convert into flats.
The cache is hidden between the Coastguard Station and the Assembly Rooms - take in the sea air, rest your weary feet and cast you mind back to the good old days when cache was never a worry.
