Na području današnjeg mjesta Sv.Filip i Jakov u dalekoj prošlosti prije gotovo tri tisuće godina postojalo je maleno Liburnsko naselje, čiji ostaci su vidljivi u suhozidima i grobnim gomilama iz kojih potječu nalazi koji se danas čuvaju u Biogradskom muzeju. Dolaskom
Rimljana u I. st. grade se gospodarska imanja i ladanjske vile za islužene rimske vojnike.
 
Ostaci tih građevina mogu se naći u zaleđu nedaleko crkve Sv. Roka, u priobalju na području primorja prema Biogradu, te nasuprot Sv. Filip i Jakova na otočiću Frmić.
 
Na Frmiću je vidljiv ostatak rimske kasnoantičke cisterne (villa rustica) sa bačvastim svodom, a sa zapadne strane, pod morem, ostaci su temeljne konstrukcije pristaništa u obliku slova '' L''.
 
Za dolazak na otočić trebat će vam brod. Plivanje sa obale do otoka ne preporučujem zbog jake morske struje u kanalu.

Small town St. Filip and Jakov in the distant past nearly three thousand years ago was a small Liburnian village, whose remains are visible in the stone walls and burial mounds from which they originate, which is kept today in the Museum of Biograd. With the arrival of
Romans in the first century city, landed estates and country houses for veteran Roman soldiers.

The remains of these buildings can be found in the hinterland near the Church St. Roko in the coastal area of Biograd and opposite St. Filip and Jakov on the island Frmić.

The Frmić visible remains of a Late Roman cisterns (villa rustica) with a barrel vault, and on the west side, under the sea, the remains of the pier foundation structures in the form of letters'' L''.

To arrive at the island you will need a boat. Swimming from the shore to the island is not recommended because of strong currents in the channel.
