This is a laid back weekend camping event at Chapman State Park in Warren County, PA, to give you an opportunity to spend a weekend with other geocachers, see beautiful fall foliage, honor your fellow cachers that have attained 1K milestones, and find those elusive caches in the area.
We would like to thank Chapman State Park for generously allowing us to use the pavillion!
Camping reservatins can be made at www.dcnr.state.pa.us/stateparks. PLEASE NOTE: Even if you are not campng, you are welcome to come and participate in all or part of the weekend!
The tentativeevent schedule looks like this:
Friday, October 12th
3 to 7 pm Arrival and camp set-up
7:30pm to 10 pm Campfire Meet and Greet at campsite # 5 The campfire activity qualifies as a seperate event. We hope you will join us for the fun!
Saturday, October 13th
9 am to 3 pm Caching on your own in the local area. There are plenty of good caches close to Chapman State Park, Warren, and the Allegheny National Forest.
3:30 to 6:30 pm Milestone Celebration Picinic Hamburgers and hot dogs will be provided
Sunday, October 14th
10 am to 12 pm C.I.T.O. to leave Chapman State Park in a beter condition then when we arrived to highlight our committment to the sport. The C.I.T.O. activity qualifies as a seperate event. We hope you will join us for the fun!
Milestone Celebration Picnic
Here is a chance to honor a fellow geocacher who has attained a milestone of 1000 or more geocache finds. You nominate your friend, prepare a golden ammo can, and you can offer a few well chosen words and/or a caching story about your Geo-friend at the picnic. Golden ammo cans will be placed on display at Pavillion # 4 and well wishers will have a chance to sign the logs or help stuff the ammo cans with a few suitable trinkets for the honorees.
Please bring a dish to share for the pcicnic and please post a note letting us know what you are bringing and how many are in your party. If you would care to honor someone, just post a note containing their caching name and who will be honoring them, or if you would like to keep it a surprise, e-mail Rockton Raiders directly. Then prepare a golden ammo can complete with a log bookand a couple of trinkets for them. The rest of us will try to help fill up the ammo can and sign the log books with some good wishes for continued good caching.
