The purpose of this earthcache is to see & learn about various mineral and metals at this site and their trade use among the ancient peoples of this area.**
High-ranking individuals were often buried with items made from metals and minerals obtained by trade from distant areas.
The metals and minerals were made into useful trade items. The display shows where these metals and minerals came from before they arrived here to be made into these useful items.
First go to the Hopewell Influence Map, located on your right & right again as you enter the museum section.
This map displays the rocks & minerals that made there way to this location and from where in the country they came from.
