Engine #9, built in 1884, made its last passenger trip to Denver in 1937 and returned to Summit County in 2010 to where you enjoy in now. A steam driven, coal fueled locomotive included its own sand-drop system to maintain rail friction and a “bear-trap” spark arrestor on the smoke stack to prevent starting forest fires.
