While I feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for the cache owner and block other cachers from placing a cache in the area around this cache for a reasonable amount of time, we can’t do so forever.

Nothing seems to happen with this cache listing, so it is now archived, so that someone else can place a cache in the area, and geocachers can once again enjoy visiting this location. Also, if it hasn’t been done already, please pick up any remaining cache bits as soon as possible.

Geocache Description:

Den gamle brua mellom Føynland og Nøtterøy.

Dette er en av to cacher som er lagt ut ved bruene over fra Nøtterøy til Føynland. Den første brua ble åpnet 17. mai 1908 og ble forsterket i 1922 for å klare å ta unna den økende biltrafikken til og fra øya.
Sundet som brua går over heter Eknessundet og når du står på brua kan du se over til bl. annet Kalvetangen som er kjent for sine vaktmesterboliger. På Føynland heter stedet Sundrebakken og på Nøtterøysiden heter stedet Lahelle.

Området rundt brua har en del verneverdige områder. Eknessundet har mudderbanker og undervanns-basseng. Går du over brua mot Føynland og opp bakken vil du etter rundt hundre meter se et stort eiketre som er vernet.

Eng: This is one of two caches that are posted at the bridges over from Nøtterøy to Foynland. The first bridge was opened May 17th 1908 and was reinforced in 1922 in order to be able to handle the increased traffic to and from the island. When you take this cache, you can also note a number that you need to get a last cache(GC3R0EW). The number is the number of lines of text on the sign cache is hidden on.
