Geocache Description:

Music Was My First Love

Firstly let me start by pointing out that the cache is not at the published co-ordinates, they would lead you to the middle of a rather busy roundabout and I wouldn't advise dodging the traffic to get to it. They are however, not too far away from the actual cache location.

This cache is based on my love for music from various years and genres. In order to find it you will need to have a bit of music knowledge (or the ability to search the internet).

You will need to fill in the missing numbers from the songs/artists written below. When you have the correct numbers you can replace the following red letters with their corresponding number to give you your co-ordinates; NAB° CD.EFG WSTU° VW.XYZ.
I know you will be able to guess a few of them but play the game anyway and test your music knowledge.

So, let's go for the North co-ordinates. In order to find A, you will need to know which English boy band had hits in the 90's with 'Keep On Movin', 'Everybody Get Up' and 'Got The Feelin' to name but a few.

Busted went to the 'Year B000' in their 2003 hit. But what number should B be?

'I'm Not In Love', 'Rubber Bullets' and 'Dreadlock Holiday' were all UK number ones for English rock band, 1Ccc.

Oh what a night The Four Seasons had back in 'December 'D3' according to their 1975 number 1 hit.

Canadian rock group Sum E1 had big UK hits in 2001 with 'Fat Lip' and 'In Too Deep'.

Tori Amos had a hit in 1999 with '1F00 Oceans', a song which featured in the 2000 film, 'Here On Earth'.

And for your last North co-ordinate, one for the Bob Dylan fans, Dylan had a hit in 1965 with a song from the album of the same name, 'Highway G1 Revisited'. The biggest song from this album being 'Like A Rolling Stone'.

Now for your West co-ordinates, do you know which Birmingham group had massive hits in the eighties and nineties with 'Red Red Wine' and '(I Can't Help) Falling in Love With You'? Of course you do, the last digit in this groups name is S.

The Proclaimers proclaimed that the were gonna be 5T0 miles in their 1988 number 3 song, which was re-released in 2007 as a charity single featuring Peter Kay as Brian Potter and Matt Lucas as Andy Pipkin, this time managing to top the charts!

Bran Van 3U00 were another Canadian Band who burst into the charts at number 3 in 1997 with their one hit wonder, 'Drinking in L.A'.

'What's Up' was a one hit wonder in 1993 for American band V Non Blondes.

A song that I'm sure the majority of us have heard of is the 1985 hit 'Summer of W9' by Bryan Adams, what most might not realise is that the song only reached number 42 in the UK charts (according to Wikipedia), why was this I wonder?

To find X, you will need to know which English band had hits in the nineties with 'Going For Gold', 'Getting Better' and my favourite of theirs, 'Chasing Rainbows'. The number in their name is X.

Sheffield alternative rock band Pulp had various hits in the nineties and early noughties, one of which, released in 1995, was 'Disco 200Y'.

And finally, you can't have a music related quiz without them, so how many 'Days a Week' did The Beatles sing about in their 1964 hit? The answer being Z.

I have started the cache off by adding a few old CD's just to keep in the music theme, you don't have to continue with this but I guess it could make an ideal spot for CD/DVD swaps along with TB's of course!

Please try to leave the cache exactly as you find it, hidden but not impossible to find! Thank you.
