Geocache Description:

This is a tribute cache honoring Fubga!

Fubga logs his 1000th cache!

This cache is placed in Twin Springs Park. This park is home to a popular trout stream and was the site of the original Decorah Fish Hatchery, which has since moved SE of Decorah to Siewer Springs.

Fubga's caching career began while he was a student at Wartburg College. He went on a mathematics trip to the country of Germany along with one of his math professors, Brian from birgenfamily. It was there that birgenfamily introduced Fubga to the world of Geocaching.

Fubga and his brother later bought us a GPS unit for our anniversary. They knew we enjoyed spending time in the great outdoors together and liked searching for nature's treasures. Yes, the GPS collected dust for a month before we finally discovered just how much fun this geocaching could be and the great places it could take us. So, a really Big Thanks for opening this new door to a great activity for us!

The hillsides here tend to be steep and fragile, so please start at the listed waypoint and stay on the trail until you reach GZ. You will reach this trail by following the stream up to its two sources (Twin Springs - which is an Earthcache GC1AV5N) and a little beyond. At GZ some stealth may be required as this trail is popular with runners and walkers.

Congratulations, Brian, on your 1000 cache finds!
