Na Ribeira Quente a FESTA DO CHICHARRO, que proporciona aos residentes e a todos os que visitam a freguesia momentos de verdadeira animação.
Como já é hábito, esta festa trás à Ribeira Quente milhares de pessoas provenientes de diversos lugares, com especial destaque para os emigrantes que cada vez mais escolhem esta época do ano para visitarem a sua terra natal.
É nesta altura do ano que a Ribeira Quente se transforma e acolhe os demais visitantes, facto que em muito tem contribuído para a projecção da freguesia e consequente valorização das suas potencialidades, nomeadamente no que se refere ao desenvolvimento turístico.
O cartaz de espectáculos apresentado tem sido sem dúvida do melhor que se poderia esperar, sendo a juventude a principal visada.
Além de toda a animação musical, a FESTA DO CHICHARRO é também o meio de maior promoção da gastronomia local, com especial destaque para o “Rei da Festa”, o Chicharro, que pode sempre ser degustado de diferentes formas e ao gosto de cada um.

In Ribeira Quente the Festa do Chicharro, that provided to the residents and to all who visit the parish moments of real excitement.
As usual, this party gives back to Ribeira Quente thousands of people from different places, with particular emphasis on migrants who increasingly choose this time of year to visit his homeland.
During this time of year that Ribeira Quente gives other visitors and hosts, fact which has greatly contributed to the projection of the parish and consequent enhancement of its potential, in particular as regards the development tourist.
The poster has been presented shows without a doubt the best that could be expected.
Besides all the musical entertainment, the FESTA DO CHICHARRO is also the means of further promoting local food, with particular emphasis on the “Rei da Festa”, the Chicharro, which can always be eaten in different ways and tastes of each.
Ribeira Quente
Ribeira Quente é uma freguesia portuguesa do concelho da Povoação, com 9,88 km² de área, 767 habitantes (2011) e densidade de 77,6 hab/km².
Localiza-se na ilha de São Miguel, no arquipélago dos Açores, encontrando-se quase ao nível do mar. Tem como fronteiras, a norte a herdade de José do Canto, as terras da misericórdia de Furnas e Pico dos Bodes. A sul o mar, a nascente a Ribeira do Agrião e a poente a Grota do Tufo.
No seu aspecto físico, dois grupos habitacionais são bem visíveis: o lugar da Ribeira e o do Fogo. Quanto ao primeiro, e como o próprio nome indica, situa-se na convergência da Ribeira dos Tambores com o mar e caracteriza-se pela existência do porto de pesca e seus complexos adjacentes. Quanto ao local do Fogo, situa-se nos arredores da actual igreja paroquial de São Paulo, edificada de 1911 a 1917. Existe aí uma pequena baía na qual se situa um pequeno areal: a Praia do Fogo. A existência de nascentes hidrotermais submarinas tornam a água do mar tépida.

Ribeira Quente
Ribeira Quente is a civil parish in the municipality of Povoação in the Portuguese Azores. The population in 2011 is 767 in an area of 9.88 km² (its density is hab/km²): the smallest in area, the lowest and the southernmost parish in municipality.
It is slightly located about nearly 6 km from the famous geysers of Furnas. The main industry are agriculture. It is connected with a road linking Ponta Delgada, Lagoa along with Ribeira Grande and the town seat. It is located E of Lagoa, SE of Ribeira Grande and W of the municipal seat. The Atlantic Ocean is to the south. The mountains are to the north and farmlands are in the central part. Most of the parish are mountainous.
In 1588 a huge landslide from the valley of Furnas, provoked by intense rainfall, caused the expansion of the land in Ribeira Quente. Similarly the volcanic eruption on September 2, 1630, in Furnas, caused the flow of debris that inundated the river and covered the coast, limiting the access of local shipping that once crossed the area. Around sedentary community was established along the coast following these events.
Around 1765, the first chapel to Saint Paul was established by peoples from Villa Franca do Campo; at the time Ribeira Quente was part of the parish this municipality. A second structure was built around 1796-98, when the space became insufficient for the community and its proximity to the sea resulted in some damage to the structure.
