A nice walk on the Brightwater paths to visit a new art installation.
While walking the Brightwater paths to find a nearby geocache (GC3JW04) I stumbled upon this interesting new piece of artwork. Installed May 2012, it is part of the King County public art collection called Grandfather’s Wisdom. The artist is Andrea Wilbur-Sigo of the Squaxin Island Tribe. Grandfather’s Wisdom refers to the Northwest Coast tradition of the longhouse built along a body of water. Carved motifs feature Killer Whale, Octopus and Thunderbird – creatures of universal importance to the Puget Sound tribes. The longhouse is flanked by a series of upright paddles, in homage to the practice of “paddles up” when approaching a community by canoe, signaling a desire to land and visit. Come visit this artwork and enjoy the paths and artwork of Brightwater.
Please respect the park hours, dawn to dusk. You are looking for a bison tube with log only. BYOP.
Congrats to Rjcraig64 and Loggirls(?) For the CO-FTF!
