It lies to the south of Golspie past the golf course. A series of nature trails though the wood offers pleasant walking in all seasons, but it is a special treat in summer. The very rare One-flowered Wintergreen (or St Olaf ’s candlestick), creeping Lady’s Tresses and Twinflower are three botanical surprises to be found here in June. Crested Tits and Scottish crossbills, Treecreepers and Great Spotted Woodpeckers may be seen in the woods here. Red Squirrels, Pine Martens and Roe Deer are also present. Thank you to Nathan McLaughlan of SNH for permission to place this cache.
