Obzirom na morfološku klasifikaciju speleoloških objekata u hrvatskom kršu, Durovića špilja ubraja se medu jednostavne špilje. Sastoji se od jednog špiljskog kanala silaznog tipa, bez većih bočnih kanala, u dnu preoblikovanog intezivnim urušavanjem. Oblikovana u kategoriju srednje dugačkih špilja. Oblikovana u naslagama gornjokrednog vapnenca i djelomično sedimentnih stijena poput breče, obiluje sigama različitih tipova: stlaktitima, stalagmitima, sigastim prevlakama, saljevima. Proširenje kanala na samom dnu špilje, ili Dvorana Dubrovačke Republike, obiluje najljepše profiliranim sigama uskih i plitkih brazda, te malim lokvicama vode u nepropusnom sedimentu.

The Karst area of the Adriatic coast is shaped by carbonate deposits from the transitonal period from the upper creaceous to the paleogene area. According to speleomorphological classification of the Croatian Karst, the Durovića špilja belongs to the simple caves. It consists of one downward passage in the direction northeast - southwest. The cave is classified as a middle-length cave and has no larger sidearms. There is a big amount of dripstones such as stalactites, stalagmites, flowstones and curtians. The wide hall at the end is named "Hall of the republic of Dubrovnik" and contains along with the "Chapel" the most impressive parts and also some pools of water. More interesting facts about the achelogical and biological side of the Durovića špilja you find on the informationboards at the entrance.

Entsprechend der speleomorphologischen Klassifikation des Kroatischen Karsts gehört die Durovića špilja zu den einfachen Höhlen. Sie besteht aus einer Passage abwärts in Richtung Nordost - Südwest. Die Höhle ist als eine der mittellangen Höhlen klassifiziert und hat keine größeren Seitenarme. Es gibt eine hohe Anzahl von Tropfsteinvariationen, sowie Stalaktiten, Stalagmiten, Flowstones und Vorhängen. Die große Halle am Ende der Passage wird "Halle von der Republik von Dubrovnik" genannt und enthält zusammen mit der "Kapelle" die beeindruckensten Teile der Höhle und auch einige Wasserdepots.
