The name "Uitkyk" is derived from Afrikaans meaning “view” or “look out”.
There is a stunning view of where the red desert sand meets the dull kaki outcrop. Those feeling adventurous can deflate their tyres at this point and do some desert driving. But as always, DONT DO THIS ALONE. Ensure that you are in a group of 2 or 3 cars if you venture onto the sands. It’s a long walk in search of help
