Geocache Description:


The Pritchett Normal Institute
Started as a prepatory institute in 1901 by Albert, R.W., and J.P. Maberry aided by Ben Williams and W.W. Sanders. the school trained teachers and also had public school courses with pupils from as far away as the texas pan handle. the school added a building in 1908. The pland was sold to the public school system in 1915.
the school is no longer there and the land is currently occupied by the Pritchett Volunteer firedepartment and community center. i grew up in the  community and was at one time a volunteer firemen here. the rock wall on the north end of the property was part of the college .
