Geocache Description:

Cache is not located at the posted coordinates. Coordinates will take you to the entrance to the South Lyon Cemetery. Hours are dawn to dusk. Per Michigan law, absolutely no caching is allowed after dark or before dawn.

We had intended this to be a cache to celebrate the opening of the Olympics, but after investigating, we realized that this would not be possible so we had to modify our idea. In 1984, the Detroit Tigers had one of the most memorable and magical seasons in Detroit Tigers history. Some of the many highlights of that season include: They started off with an amazing 35-5 record They lead their division from start to finish They finished with more than 100 victories Jack Morris pitched a no hitter over the Chicago White Sox They swept the Royals in the Championship Series They defeated San Diego 4-1 to win the World Series To find the cache, you must search the cemetery and find the famous Tigers' logo, the Old English D on one of the gravestones. Watch out for red herrings and use the clue to confirm if you are at the right gravestone. Once you find that historic logo, you will need to perform the following calculations: For the North Coordinate, take the year of Dorothy's birth and add it to 25.362 For the West coordinate, take the year of Richard's death and add it to 36.502 Some bushwhacking will be required to get to the cache and there may be poison ivy near the entrance, depending on where you go in.
